Think before you sign a Podcasting Contract!

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

No-contract-290x300I want to send out a word of warning to podcasters out there. You need to really explore all of your options before you go and sign a exclusive or semi-exclusive deal with a podcasting company.

There are alternatives that don’t lock you, your content, and your earning potential into one company. Here at RawVoice we never require podcasters to sign any form of contract that limits there creativity or where one can go to find sponsorship dollars for ones show.

When you are a member of our community you have the ability to participate in ad deals that you so choose to participate in. You always have the right of refusal. We are also are very generous in that the financial benefits are such that you get 70% of the dollars in every deal.

We have podcasters today that have been in ad deals for the past 4 years earning substantial incomes. These deals range from CPM  Ad deals that have paid as high as $52.00 per 1000 downloads.  We also have CPA buys that outright beat payment rates offered by our competitors in some cases as much as 5X times greater.

Do not be swayed into signing a contract that is going to limit the ability of your show to grow and prosper. The immediate money may look enticing but talk to those in the space that are no longer under these exclusive contracts, and you may sit back and re-consider what you are about to sign.

The RawVoice team is very proud to announce that our Basic Podcast Statistics are now 100 Free with no pre-conditions. Effective today across all of our podcast community sites get access to our Basic Podcast Statistics service by just being a community member.

We realized that in these tough economic times, that while many podcasters want to monetize there podcast, a segment of shows are not ready for advertising, but need the reliable accurate podcast statistics data to continue to build their shows that we provide. This was a large factor in us removing the pre-condition for podcasters to fill out a podcast ad survey to get access to the stats service.

The Power of Vertical Podcast Markets

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Cochrane-smallFrom the desk of the CEO of RawVoice:

Late in 2004 when another podcaster and I came up with the concept of the Tech Podcast Network little did I realize at the time that the ongoing business generated from that property would lead us to developing a new revenue stream that not only profits RawVoice but also profits new partners.

In late 2008 the RawVoice team decided to start seeking out leaders in the new media space in specific categories, to forge a new business partnerships. The first partnership we forged was with a long time supporter of RawVoice and a leader in the medical podcast space.

That relationship resulted in the development of the Pro Med Network under the management of Jaime Davis, while the details of the partnership are confidential Jaime’s company and RawVoice worked very hard to come up with a framework that benefits each company.

By allowing Jaime to focus on building a network, and RawVoice providing the supporting infrastructure and admin support. Jaime was able to secure a a sponsor that is advertising on the family of shows on the network from it’s launch bringing immediate value to those that are part of the network.

While Jaime’s network has just launched it re-validates a model that we know works. Thus we are seeking a limited number of category leaders to work with in building additional verticals podcast networks.

Are you a category leader? Are you serious about building a vertical contact us today

Podango Podcasters 30 Free Days of Media Hosting

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Hey, yeah, we heard. The online video and audio network Podango might be done before the end of this year. The loss of Podango’s services and innovative capabilities are a real blow to our tight-knit new media community and the team at RawVoice honors the accomplishments and commitment of Podango since it’s inception in 2006.

Podango President Douglas Smith has encouraged podcasters to immediately seek new hosting services to ensure they are not negatively impacted by the loss of Podango. We at RawVoice respect that immensely and have tools in place to automate the transfer process should you choose to try out our online video and audio network, Blubrry.

Actually, we’ve made it not only easy, but free. In addition to offering Podango podcasters an automated process to transfer files from Podango to the Blubrry network, the RawVoice team is giving Podango podcasters 30 days of free hosting. This will give you time to continue your show while you consider you hosting options. You are under no obligation to continue hosting with Blubrry: during the 30 day period you can move your shows to another provider at any time. Sure, we hope you’ll continue hosting with Blubrry, but the immediate need is to keep your podcasts online, uninterrupted.
