Why do I sound like a member of the chipmunks when I listen to my podcasts with the on-line audio player?

Your mp3 audio must be encoded at 22050Hz or 44100Hz in order to play correctly in any Flash based audio player.

Many recording and encoding applications use the LAME library in order to encode to mp3 format. For some reason if you encode your audio at 64k/44100Hz it will become 64k/24000Hz. You can over come this by either encoding at 96k/44100Hz or 64k/22050Hz.

If you are encoding your mp3s from within Audacity, then you are using LAME.

We recommend using an open source application called RazorLame to encode your recordings. It also uses LAME, but sets all the appreciate settings in order to encode in the specific format you set.
