Hello Everyone

First and foremost this is a announce list from the staff at Blubrry.com, you should not under normal circumstances get more than 1 message a day from us, replies will go back to team members, and not the list subscribers. This for now will be our primary way of letting you know of updates and changes to blubrry.com

In the near future most notifications and announcements like these will be tied into the messaging system on the site.

Site Update:

I am sure most of you have noticed that we are knocking bugs out on a regular basis, and hopefully by the end of the weekend can have the initial roll-out bugs dealt with.

The team here all have Day jobs, so please be aware that most of our updates take place in the evening. So if something critical comes up it will likely early evening before we flush it out. The biggest challenge thus far has been the myriad ways that you all have your RSS feeds configured. It is highly recommended that you become familiar with feedvalidator.org to check your feeds. The recent iTunes category change has a lot of feeds across the net coming back invalid as we are waiting on FeedValidator.org to get there system updated.

Issues:

We also have some sites that feeds are not updating currently, that is priority #1 this afternoon and we should have that fix in place directly. (fixed)

Communications:

We have a public mailing list available that you can participate in as well if you wish this will allow you to have conversations with others in the community. The volume in the list will likely get heavy so fair warning. Join by sending a e-mail to blubrry@blubrry.com with your show name and the e-mail addres you want to use.

We also have a FAQ at faq.blubrry.com and as that populates this will be the first place for questions on topics that are likely to be re-occurring.

If you see a site bug please use the contact form on the web page that will assign a trouble ticket to the issue so that we can track it. If you do not hear from us or the bug remains after 72 hours please engage us directly.

I will be putting out a podcast shortly that will introduce the team and cover most of the issues that I expect will be cropping up.

Whats Next:

In the next week or so we will be asking all of you to fill out a confidential questionnaire that will give us the necessary information needed to build a portfolio to present to advertisers. I have several companies already expressing a interest and I will move as quickly as possible to present some campaigns to you.

Some Thoughts:

First and foremost though Blubrry is a community and because you have chosen to join a community you get to help the direction of the website. Listeners enhancements always come first and building your brands is second. We want you to feel you are a integral part of our family.

For me family is everything, living here in Hawaii the word Ohana means Family and it is deep and spiritual. Although we all come from different parts of the country and world we still share the love of podcasting and reaching our audiences. A large percentage of the team here at RawVoice Podcast and we were podcasters first. We do not answer to any investors and were not rich, like you we get up every day and head out to the ball and chain that puts food on the table.

We will say that we have a passion for podcasting and have had some success in other properties. Will this be a easy road not at all but if we build the momentum on this site we will all have done it together as a family with each show having a small part in its success.

In closing today, I have a motto, "Podcasters do the Work, Podcasters get Paid" we are very open in what we do and we hide little. Because as a open community we don't believe in secrets and information you don't have. We believe in giving you all the information so that as a family we can grow.
