I wanted to provide a Blubrry.com update tonight, for those of you that are new to the community welcome to the Blubrry Announcement list where we update you, on what is happening at Blubrry.com. I want to remind everyone that they can find all of the previous announcements at faq.blubrry.com, as well as the Google mail list archive.

Blubrry Promotion:

In the very near future we are going to add a referral code to the signup area at Blubrry.com each of you will be issued a referral code, and when podcasters and listeners sign up for an account on Blubrry.com and use your promo code we will reward those of you that help build this community with prizes and maybe even cash from time to time.

Site Updates:

Angelo one of our developers is back to writing code. He is about to get married in a few short weeks, and had his bachelor party this past weekend, so I am sure he killed a few brain cells that in mind we will be going over the beta site with a fine tooth comb before we do a update. But as of tonight he is back to implementing new features on the site. Matt who has moved from Maine to Philly is getting settled in and sadly his laptop died today so hopefully in a couple of days will be back to writing code, we have a bunch of enhancements to the site that are nearly finished and soon to be rolled out.

I am also seeing a rise of invalid RSS feeds again, do yourself a favor and check your rss feeds from time to time at www.feedvalidator.org

Listener Education:

Those of you that said you would help with the podcast education series we will be contacting you next week on that.

Putting Money in Your Pockets:

We are proud to announce that the first advertising deal has been 100% completed and within the next 48 hours podcasters that are on the WickedLasers.com ad buy will start what is potentially a 3-6 month run, the first month will be critical as the performance of the ads will determine if the advertiser continues for a full 3-6 month run, this could end up putting $X0,000 dollars in our community of Podcasters Pockets.

The second ad deal with GotoMeeting is finalized we have a little room for a couple of more shows, if you think yours fits the product drop me a line we will be starting that campaign on October 1, we have nearly 75 podcasters signed up on this ad buy and if we run the ad deal for the full 6 months as the advertisers hopes we will this will result in nearly $X0,000 dollars being put in podcasters pockets over the life of the campaign.

As a reminder only shows that have filled out an ad survey available via “Your Settings” are eligible to be considered for an advertising deal. I have received an offer from a third vendor in which I will be starting to process in the coming days. So if you have not filled out your ad survey please do so today. We want to remind you that if you bring an advertiser to the blubrry community not only will you get a nice finders fee you will also be helping to support the podcasters in this community.

Podcast Expo – Help Wanted

Podcast Expo: as you all know we will have a booth and hospitality suite at the Podcast and Portable Media Expo we will be in booth 413 and look forward to meeting each and every one of you. We hope that you choose to join the 2500+ Podcasters that will be at the Podcast Expo. I will be speaking at the expo along with hosting the Podcast Awards Ceremony. I am looking for a couple of people to help with the video recording of the awards, a sound man, and a couple of people to take pictures if you would like to help out let me know.
