Blubrry Community Update
I trust everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2007 was an amazing year for RawVoice and our family of podcasting communities. We expect 2008 to be a great year as well. In 2007 podcasters on advertising deals with RawVoice earned 100’s of thousands of dollars and we have podcasters that are part of our community today who are earning consistently more than $10,000 each month.
While that is impressive we remain very proud that we extend every advertising opportunity we have, to each and every member of the community that has a current advertising survey no mater their audience size. No one else in this business will treat small shows the same. This is a great time to go in update you advertising survey available via “Your Settings” when you are logged into Blubrry.com.
The beautiful thing about Blubrry is you remain in control of your show, and can build your brand. We work for you behind the scenes to find advertising deals, to monetize your content and get you exposure its the best deal in podcasting as you remain in control and can even turn down deals we offer it does not get any better than that!
We have also been busy behind the scenes, many of you have commented on the last BrryCast where Todd demonstrated the new publishing system we introduced over at podcasternews.com. A very similar but more powerful publishing system will in very short order made available to those looking for a hosting solution that does not lock you into any platform. You’re going to hear us talk a lot more about not being locked into any podcasting platform or website by giving you tools that will allow your show to grow and be represented as you desire not what someones walled garden allows.
We have also been testing with great success a commercial Content Delivery Network for your podcast media, that for those looking for alternate media delivery choices we will have this available when we roll out hosting on Blubrry.com. No longer will you have to worry about the financial viability of the company hosting your podcast media with.
Todd Cochrane the CEO of RawVoice and host of the Geek News Central Podcast along with Andy McCaskey of SlashdotReview will be headed to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show to do coverage for the Tech Podcast Network and also focus on signing new vendors for your advertising opportunities.
If you are not subscribed to the RawVoice Blog and the Blubrry Blog we encourage you to subscribe to be kept up to date on what is happening on a week to week basis.
We want you to help Blubrry grow invite five of your favorite podcast to join the network, and continue to promote the community through your shows as is required through the terms of service, we want to remind everyone Blubrry is a opt in community, it is not a directory and you are required in an non obtrusive way to mention you are part of the blubrry community in your shows. As a team we build the community traffic and listeners together.
If you’re not using the Blubrry Stats system your really missing out, there are a HUGE number of you running the stats service. It’s free to use, so long as your Advertising Survey is up to date. If you want to see new features, be sure to request them in the Blubrry forum and or comment on what you like about the service.
I must say though and while I will knock on Wood it has been 4 months since the new podcast stats system launched and we have not had a single outage stats have been available 24/7 and they work folks! Unlike some of the other services out there that are consistently on the blink. No one gives you more detailed information on who is consuming your media than we do.
For those on GotoMeeting or GotoMyPC ad buys make sure you get your reporting.xls files in, you will have gotten a reminder notice tonight.
